Meeting of “Gaudinians” in Comillas to Celebrate the 140th Anniversary of El Capricho

Anna Mollet

Last week, representatives of all Gaudí’s works gathered in Comillas, Cantabria, to celebrate the 140th anniversary of El Capricho, one of Gaudí’s early works.

It was a historic event that began with the institutional celebration of the anniversary, but there was also time for a collective work session and a visit to the town’s modernist heritage, which is extensive and of very high quality.

With the centenary of Gaudí’s death on the horizon in 2026, Gaudí’s managers are working together to develop a joint program for the anniversary and to establish a basis for collaboration to address the future of preserving and disseminating Antoni Gaudí’s legacy. These meetings in Comillas will be the first of many in-person gatherings of the Gaudinian world.

From Torre Bellesguard, we want to thank the hosts for their hospitality and the exquisite treatment received, and especially for making us feel at home. Thank you very much and congratulations!
