The objectives of this commemoration are:
– To mark a significant milestone: June 10, 2026, the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s passing.
– To promote the life and work of Gaudí from artistic, scientific, academic, and innovative perspectives.
– To raise awareness of Gaudí’s various works through a new narrative that interconnects them, offering a comprehensive view of his creative process and highlighting lesser-known projects.
– To organize an exhibition on Gaudí’s life and legacy, focused on recent discoveries and contributions, supported by modern interactive technologies.
– To disseminate and encourage research on Gaudí’s work through the organization of a Disciplinary Scientific Congress.
– To bring Gaudí’s legacy closer to the local community, especially younger generations, by conveying the artistic, technical, and scientific values of his work.
Over a year ago, the Gaudí Chair — representing the Consell Gaudí and all of the architect’s works, both in Catalonia and in other parts of Spain — submitted a request for the designation of 2026 as a Year of Special Public Interest (AEIP). This request is still pending approval by the Ministry of Culture, with exactly one year remaining until the centenary.
