Music has always been one of Gaud\u00ed’s great passions. It is no different for Torre Bellesguard. Even when the pandemic forced us to pause, we initiated a series of concerts to maintain the connection between musicians and their audience. You can find a summary of all the concerts on our YouTube channel: Bellesguardgaudi<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

At other times, what we have done is offer our spaces for different groups of musicians to rehearse. And that is precisely what we want to talk about today because last weekend, we hosted the first groups of the year. Two groups that have visited us before: Qvinta Essen\u00e7ia and Cor de Ponent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Qvinta Ess\u00e8n\u00e7ia<\/p><\/div>\n

The first group, Qvinta Ess\u00e8n\u00e7ia,<\/a> is a vocal quartet specializing in Renaissance polyphony. At Bellesguard, they presented their album “Marenzio, Madrigals<\/a>.” This concert was part of the Bellesguard Premieres Festival<\/a>, a project that emerged, as we mentioned, during the lockdown in 2020. During the months of July, August, and September, every Wednesday, we released a new premiere from different artists who, thanks to this platform, presented their latest works despite adverse circumstances.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cor de Ponent<\/p><\/div>\n

The second group, Cor de Ponent<\/a>, is a choir that combines performances with music language and singing classes. Sometimes, they have come to Torre Bellesguard to rehearse but also to sing. Particularly emotional was their performance on May 18, 2021, to celebrate the International Museum Day<\/a> concert. As you can see in the video, at that time, the audience still had to be limited, and the use of masks was mandatory. In a similar format, they also celebrated the Flaixbac Showcase Concerts<\/a> then, and in 2022, concerts were already held without restrictions. Once again, we could dance and mingle with each other. This year, fortunately, we continue to enjoy music without any hindrance. Let the music play!
